How to use Widget Logic with Shopp

Widget Logic is a fantastic plugin. It allows you to use WordPress’ conditional tags on any widget. In plain English you can specify where you want certain to widgets to appear.

Installing Widget Logic

First login to your WordPress admin (wp-admin). Then go to the Plugins area. Click on search and type in Widget Logic. Now click on ‘Install Now’ Widget Logic and afterwards be sure to activate the plugin.

Improve Email Deliverability with Postmark

Ensuring reliable email in WordPress isn’t an easy task. There are many variables involved that could prevent your emails from being delivered. For a business owner this can be a headache.

Here are a few types of emails that are sent in a WordPress e-commerce store:

  • New order notification
  • Shipping notices
  • Customer registration
  • Order status updates

There is no need to hope that your emails will be delivered. You can do something about it today!

We recommend using Postmark.

It works by taking over email sent through wp_mail (the default mailer for WordPress). The emails are sent through Postmark’s service and they do many things including signing emails to make sure that your emails arrive at their destination. Joost de Valk discusses the technical issues of email deliverability on his blog.

How to use Shopp + Zendesk with Zendesk’s Regular SSL

We have updated the Shopp + Zendesk plugin.

Zendesk now has a feature called Regular SSL.

It can be accessed by logging into your Zendesk account and going to Settings –> Security and then clicking on the SSL tab.

When this feature is enabled your Zendesk Help Desk will be secured via HTTPS.

I’ve been a member of the Shopp support team for some time now. I’ve had the pleasure of helping many people across the globe with their e-commerce stores.

In this post, I’ll share a few lessons learned on getting the support that you seek.

My definition of awesome support is identifying the cause of your issue and providing a solution in a timely manner.

3 Steps to Awesome Support

By following the three steps below, you can help the Shopp team reach this goal each time you are assisted via a support ticket:

  1. Describe your issue in a clear and concise way
  2. Include links to media such as screenshots and screen casts
  3. Provide technical information to the best of your knowledge
